The proposed development is in the Green Belt and out of keeping with buildings in the Green Belt.
The development is out of proportion with existing buildings, apparently being well in excess of 30% increase; there is a second floor which will require the roof level to be raised significantly according to the drawings, which is out of keeping with the other houses in the lane, which are on the whole traditional cottages, which are valued in that they give value to the village (see the Village Design Statement)..
Highways - Harris Barton is a very narrow single carriageway, bendy lane (needing its own smaller refuse truck), where it is impossible to park.
The proposed addition is likely to lead to extra vehicles which will be more than the lane can cope with and it would be difficult for builders' vehicles to gain access without obstructing residents.
The Parish Council is very concerned to note that at least one of the houses opposite has not been consulted.
