Brockeridge Centre
![]() |
The Brockeridge Centre was opened on 6th May 2000, and it replaces a derelict hut with this energy efficient building at the commercial centre of the village. The Centre has walls of local pennant stone, a simulated black slate roof, and mullioned windows to harmonise with Brockeridge Infants' School; (built in 1846 as a British School). It is designed to enable wheelchairs to navigate level pathways and enter wide doorways into each room, including the cloakroom. A hearing loop is installed also adaptations which assist the partially sighted. |
We aim to use resources of the Centre to cater for needs of local residents.

Retired people of Frampton Cotterell are so delighted to learn how to use a computer, believing this technology came too late for them. The tuition is usually one to one, unhurried and reassuring, and may continue over several weeks. The room is equipped with 9 computers with high-speed access to the Internet, and retired volunteers help people of all ages how to use a computer. Contact Jill (01454-864442) to reserve your place for a two-hour session, with a charge of £2.50 to cover costs. |
Youth Sessions
The youth sessions are resuming soon, details to follow. The Room for Young People is equipped with two computers for high-speed access to the Internet.
Local café
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel to modern hygiene standards, with hot and cold drinks served regularly. Plans are under way to serve jacket potatoes with choice of fillings; or quiche with salad, as an alternative on a limited trial basis to see if it is viable. This would be an opportunity for socialising to somebody who usually eats at home alone.
Why not consider the Brockeridge Centre as venue for your own private event; or to hold a series of meetings? Contact Jill for availability and costs. Tel: 01454-864442 or click here for email.
